Magic Cat Mesh Alternatives in Singapore: 5 Cat Mesh Options to Compare Before You Buy (2026)
Looking at Magic Cat Mesh? Here are 5 cat mesh options in Singapore worth comparing first, what each one does well, and how to compare quotes properly.
If you have searched for cat mesh in Singapore at all, you have almost certainly come across Magic Cat Mesh. They have been focused on cat safety since 2019, they turn up on nearly every cat mesh search, and they were one of the first to give HDB cat owners a dedicated page to land on. A lot of people now know that "cat mesh" is a thing partly because of them.
Here is what they publicly offer, going only by their own site: a scratch-resistant, vinyl-coated polyester and PVC mesh on a retractable frame, described as strong enough for cats up to 20 kg, a spin lock system that stops cats and kids sliding the screen open, drill-free removable installation that suits HDB flats and rental homes, and coverage for windows and balconies. Their homepage lists a 1-year warranty on mesh products. Prices are not published, so you would need to ask for a quote.
None of that is a reason not to compare. Cat mesh is a stay-for-years purchase, and the option you saw first is not automatically the best fit for your windows, your cat or your budget. So here are five other options worth a look, with what each does well. We would rather you compare properly than buy blind, whether from us or anyone else.
Why compare beyond one brand?
A few practical reasons, especially for cat homes.
- Load ratings are not all measured the same way. One provider tests for a cat's body weight, another quotes what the frame holds when pushed. A leaping or leaning cat applies far more force than it weighs, which is why we suggest 50+ kg as the sensible baseline and 70+ kg for super active cats. Our guide to the strongest window mesh explains the numbers.
- Mesh materials suit different cats. Coated polyester pet mesh, stainless steel 316, plain polyester and reinforced weaves each behave differently under claws. Our best mesh material guide breaks this down.
- Quotes vary a lot for the same window. Two providers can quote very differently for the same opening. You only find out by asking more than one.
- Your windows might not be standard. Existing grilles, moving blinds, louvres and tight recesses rule some systems out. Ask before you pay a deposit.
1. MeshMates
We offer five retractable models so you can match the frame to the cat rather than buy one size for everyone: Base (20+ kg, insect mesh for homes with chill pets), Sleek (40+ kg, boxless for tight spaces), Core (50+ kg, our most popular cat mesh), and Pro and Door (both 70+ kg, detachable, good for long windows and balcony doors).
For cat homes, the closest like-for-like to a coated pet mesh is our Core or Pro fitted with pet mesh, which is PVC-coated polyester built to take scratching. If you want a see-through option for a calmer cat, Core also takes stainless steel 316, and the Sleek carries a reinforced stainless steel 316 that can take even pen-knife cuts.
Every model has a child lock, we install drill-free with tape and silicone on windows, we fit around existing grilles and blinds, and installation is usually under an hour per visit. Warranty is 1 year on the frame with the first 6 months of service free.
2. BlindNet
BlindNet's cat mesh is a retractable roller system that their site rates to hold up to 80 kg, with a built-in key lock, a removable mesh box and a centre-opening two-roller option for wide openings. It comes in four frame colours (black, white, metallic grey and coffee brown) and their site notes there is no permanent drilling into walls.
They also do a 2-in-1 blind plus mesh in one frame, which is worth a look if you were buying blinds anyway. Products come with a 3-year warranty and you can see them at their Ubi showroom.
3. Magicseal PawSafe
Magicseal has been around since 1989 and is best known for its magnetic insect screens. Their PawSafe pet mesh is a reinforced version of that idea: thicker strands and a tighter weave than a standard screen, a reinforced frame that sits snugly against the window, a locking mechanism and a removable design for cleaning.
If you like the idea of a screen that lifts out by hand rather than a retractable roller, and you already have a Magicseal insect screen elsewhere in the flat, this keeps everything in one system. Load figures for PawSafe are not published, so ask for them.
4. Mozziefy
Mozziefy sells its pet-friendly screens in three formats: a retractable screen with heavy-duty polyester mesh, a sliding screen with a tear-resistant, scratch-proof mesh in multiple colours, and a swing screen with stainless steel 316 mesh. Each offers a lock option.
Their warranties are listed per format (1 year for retractable, 3 years for sliding, 2 years for swing, mesh excluded), which is handy when you are comparing quotes side by side. They also do sliding and retractable door screens, so balcony doors and windows can come from one place.
5. Luxus
Luxus markets its retractable screens as invisible mesh, on a slim 3 cm frame in two formats: Veltra Slim (no protruding box, for windows under 75 cm) and Veltra Pro (mesh box from 4 cm, for all windows and doors). For pet homes they offer a tear-resistant stainless steel mesh marketed as pet-proof, on panels up to 1,200 mm wide and 2,000 mm tall.
Frames come in matte black, grey and white, there is a 1-year warranty, and you can see the products at showrooms in Woodlands (by appointment), Tampines and Ubi.
How to actually compare quotes
Whichever options you shortlist, compare like for like.
- Same openings. Count every window and door, including the toilet and kitchen ones, and get every quote for that same list.
- Same mesh grade. A quote for insect-grade mesh and a quote for pet mesh are not the same product. Ask what mesh each quote includes.
- Load rating in writing. Ask for the kg figure and how it was measured. For cat homes, 50+ kg is the sensible baseline and 70+ kg for active cats.
- Warranty and service. Ask what is covered, for how long, and what a repair costs after that.
- Installation method. Drilled, taped or clip-on, and whether they will work around your grilles and blinds.
Our 10 questions to ask before buying cat mesh is a longer version of this list you can bring to every quote. For the wider picture, start with our guide to cat mesh in Singapore and, if you are still deciding between mesh and other setups, cat mesh for windows.

Frequently asked questions
Is Magic Cat Mesh the same as other cat mesh?
Not exactly. Every provider uses its own frame, mesh and lock design. Magic Cat Mesh publishes a coated polyester and PVC mesh on a drill-free retractable frame with a spin lock. Other options use PVC-coated pet mesh, stainless steel 316 or reinforced weaves on different frames, so compare the mesh material and the load rating, not just the brand name.
What load rating should cat mesh have?
We publish 50+ kg as the sensible baseline for cat homes and 70+ kg for very active cats. The number has to be far above the cat's body weight, because a cat leaping at a screen or leaning its full weight on it puts far more force on the frame than it weighs standing still. Always ask how a rating was measured.
Do these options install without drilling?
Most do for windows. Magic Cat Mesh, BlindNet and MeshMates all describe drill-free window installs, and Magicseal's magnetic system clips in without drilling. Doors and some balcony openings are different, and our Door model is drilled. Ask each provider what they use on your specific openings and what happens when you move out.
How many quotes should I get for cat mesh?
Two or three is enough if each quote covers the same list of openings and the same mesh grade. More than that and you spend weekends on site visits for very little extra insight. Send photos to shortlist first, then have only your top two come down to measure.
