Grille, Blinds/Curtains and more — how?
Every home is different. Here's how we handle common obstacles so your mesh fits perfectly regardless of what's already there.
The short answer
Yes — we can install cat mesh and insect mesh on grilles in Singapore. But the right approach depends on what you're trying to keep out and what type of grille you have.

Cat mesh for windows with grilles — pets & children
If you're installing cat mesh for windows or keeping young children safe, we can install directly over your existing grille. The grille provides structural support and we work with it as-is — no removal needed.

For insect mesh, there must be zero gaps between the grille and the window frame — even a small opening lets mosquitoes through. If gaps exist, we have two options:
Option A — Seal the gap
We assess and seal the gap between your grille and window frame, then install the insect mesh over it.
Option B — Remove & dispose your grille
We can remove your grille — this is usually straightforward. Disposal is the trickier part: bulky items in Singapore require coordination with your town council and cannot be discarded casually. We'll help you navigate this.

Casement grilles
Casement grilles often have lock or handle protrusions that block a standard install. In most cases we can't mount directly on them — but we explore a couple of workarounds:
- —Remove the protrusion if possible, then proceed with a standard installation.
- —Install the Sleek model from the inside — a solution we've used successfully for casement grilles where the protrusion can't be removed.

Yes — we have installed window mesh, cat mesh, and insect mesh in many homes with existing blinds and curtains. During the site visit, we'll assess your setup and advise on the right configuration for your space.
Pro tip
The easiest time to install your window mesh or cat mesh is before your blinds or curtains go up. If you're renovating or getting new window furnishings, reach out to us first — it makes the whole process simpler and gives you the most flexibility on placement.
Space for the mesh box
The main thing to check is whether there's enough room to accommodate the mesh box alongside your existing blinds or curtain track. Box protrusion is typically 4.8 cm to 6.8 cm — and in rare cases, 8.8 cm for larger openings.
Standard installation
We mount the mesh frame on the outer window frame, with box protrusion typically between 4.8 cm and 6.8 cm depending on the model. As long as your blinds or curtains have clearance, this works cleanly.
Tight on space? Inner frame installation
In some cases, we can install within the inner frame of the window to reduce how far the box protrudes into the room — freeing up space for your existing blinds or curtains to operate normally.
We work around your blinds and curtains — or move them
Already have blinds or curtains up? We can help move or reposition them to accommodate your new insect mesh or cat mesh installation — no need to engage a separate contractor.
If you're getting new blinds or curtains at the same time, we can also coordinate directly with your vendor to make sure both installations work together — no back-and-forth needed on your end.
